George was a pioneer in film exiting with his brother Peter in 1926 operated the Empire Theatre in Port Macquarie followed by The Amusu and built the Ritz Theatre in Port Macquarie in 1937.
George had the Civic Theatre in Walcha, He and his brother Peter owned the Roxy at west Kempsey and the Plaza Theatre at Laurieton as well as the Civic Theatre at Taree from 1941 until 1974. The Civic was completely redeveloped in 1954. He married Anna in 1941 and they raised their family of five, Angelo, Maria, Irene, Helen and Julia.
